Starvation is to an artist as stilettos are to a model; it may be painful at first but in the long run it is worth it.
I am finally understanding the term "Starving Artist." When I was younger, even though I enjoyed making art, I didn't understand why someone would want to be an artist. Since the artist would be starving I assumed they didn't make money and if that resulted in them being hungry why wouldn't they get a real job. I wanted to be an artist just not a starving one.
Since my enrollment in art classes I have been really inspired to work on my art. These past years I didn't draw or paint nearly as much as I do now. The only problem is I don't have much time to work on my projects. So I am learning to give up socializing and spending in order to make time and have money for my art. I believe this is were "Starving Artist" comes from. All I want to do is art.

Insights
Change is inevitable. Cause and affect, action and reaction. There are many events in our life that influence our actions. When we take the time to notice these influences and analyze them, then our next actions can be more planed. Slow down, observe and become aware of your soundings; keeping your mind quiet. The less you think the more you see.
As an aspiring artist being mindful in this way helps immensely with my creative process and understanding of detail. So much to the point where I have many projects I want to do because I see influences almost every day. Along with keeping track of my progress in the art world and getting helpful criticism from other artist, hopefully this blog will help you see and understand your influences and eventually help you bloom.
